Co Laois student (21) died of ‘catastrophic injuries’ caused by hit and run, inquest hears
An inquest returned a verdict of unlawful killing in the death of 21-year-old journalism student Joe Drennan, who died from catastrophic injuries sustained in a hit and run in Limerick on October 13th, 2023. The driver, Kieran Fogarty, fled the scene after running a red light and striking Drennan at a bus stop. The DPP has appealed the sentence in the case.
