Mardoche, now 33, was just 12 years old when he moved to north London - and shortly after 'Kindoki' turned his life upside down.
"Kindoki" is a Congolese term for witchcraft. A film, "Kindoki Witch Boy," documents the story of Mardoche, who was accused of being a "servant of Satan" and possessed by "Kindoki" after moving from the Democratic Republic of Congo to London at age 12. He was subjected to isolation and abuse by his family, who believed they were ridding him of evil spirits. Statistics reveal thousands of social work reports in the UK are associated with Kindoki beliefs.
