Operation Rialtas, a Garda operation established in May to protect politicians, has resulted in 18 arrests related to incidents ranging from election poster damage to death threats. The operation, a joint initiative focused on threats and criminal acts against political figures, involves Garda liaison inspectors in each division and includes a forum for sharing best practices.
