The Court of Appeal in Abuja halted the enforcement of its January 10 judgment upholding the Kano State Government's repeal of the 2019 Emirate Council Law and Sanusi Lamido Sanusi's reinstatement as Emir, pending a Supreme Court decision. This decision also set aside a Federal High Court order nullifying the repeal law. The court ordered all parties to maintain the status quo until the Supreme Court's final pronouncement.
