Ballymacool families in despair over deadline to leave homes

Nine families in Letterkenny's The Forest estate in Ballymacool face eviction within 90 days after receiving notices to vacate from property company Twin Estates, affirmed by the Residential Tenancies Board. Due to legislation around defective blocks and testing regimes the council is unable to purchase the homes leaving only two of the nine homes qualifying for a housing scheme. Cllr McMonagle advises families to contact the council for assistance.
