DWP benefit for back pain sufferers who could be due up to £434 a month

New figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) show there are now nearly 1.7 million older people receiving additional financial support through Attendance Allowance

The DWP reports that nearly 1.7 million older people, including over 74,000 with back pain, are receiving Attendance Allowance, a non-means-tested benefit for those of State Pension age needing help with daily living. The benefit pays either £72.65 or £108.55 per week (approximately £290.60 or £434.20 every four weeks) and can be used for expenses like personal care or ensuring safety. Receiving Attendance Allowance may also increase other benefits. Those newly reaching State Pension age may want to consider applying for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) as it may provide a higher payout.
