DWP confirms changes to Universal Credit will start next month for all claimants

The change will affect 7.5 million people in work, unemployed or self-employed claiming Universal Credit from April.



From April, the DWP will implement changes to Universal Credit affecting 7.5 million claimants. Claimants will be prompted more frequently to confirm changes in circumstances. Monthly Universal Credit payments will rise by 1.7%, and third-party deductions will decrease from 25% to 15% on April 7th. The DWP will announce welfare system reforms before the Spring Statement on March 26th to help people find work, including those with health conditions, as part of a £240 million investment plan.
