DWP support worth up to £812 to help claimants buy clothes, food and more

The money from both payments is paid to you by the DWP and is intended to be used for emergencies such as paying for essential household items like fridges and washing machines, clothes and footwear, and maternity or funeral costs



The DWP offers a Budgeting Loan of up to £812 to eligible claimants receiving certain income-based benefits (Pension Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or Universal Credit for at least six months) to help with emergencies like essential household items, clothes, or funeral costs. Loan amounts vary based on living situation and repayment ability, with maximums of £348 for single individuals, £464 for couples, and £812 for those with children.
