Firefly ‘Blue Ghost’: The first image from the moon after privately

A private lunar lander has touched down on the moon, delivering a drill and other experiments for NASA

Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost lunar lander successfully landed on the moon, marking a milestone as the first private spacecraft to do so without issues. Carrying NASA experiments, including a drill and a dust-removal device, the lander journeyed from Florida, reaching the moon's volcanic dome near the near side. Confirmation came from Firefly's Texas Mission Control, with the lander transmitting images of the moon and Earth. Two other companies, Intuitive Machines and ispace, are preparing nearby landings, with Intuitive aiming near the south pole. Despite the challenges and past failures, Firefly's achievement highlights advancements in private lunar exploration.
