Lethbridge organization supporting people with disabilities closing March 31 after losing provincial funding

Group lost contract with provincial government 15 months before it was due to expire

The Southern Alberta Individualized Planning Association (SAIPA), a Lethbridge-based organization providing educational workshops and resources for people with disabilities, is closing March 31, 2025, due to the loss of its $160,000 provincial government contract. The Alberta government states the funding cut is because SAIPA doesn't provide direct, front-line services, while the province increases funding to other disability programs and introduces the Alberta Disability Assistance Program.
