Meta has revenue sharing agreements with Llama AI model hosts, filing reveals
A court filing reveals that Meta shares a percentage of revenue generated by companies hosting its Llama AI models, despite CEO Mark Zuckerberg previously stating that selling access to Llama wasn't Meta's business model. This revenue sharing is significant in the context of the Kadrey v. Meta lawsuit, where Meta is accused of training Llama on pirated e-books and facilitating further infringement. Zuckerberg had mentioned the possibility of licensing Llama access and monetizing it through other channels. Meta's Llama host partners include AWS, Nvidia, Databricks, Groq, Dell, Azure, Google Cloud, and Snowflake. Meta is also reportedly considering launching a subscription service for Meta AI.
