Noel Clarke v The Guardian: Actor says career wrecked by 'false' sex abuse allegations as libel trial begins

The Guardian is defending its journalism, and say sexual misconduct against Noel Clarke are ‘true’

Noel Clarke is suing Guardian News and Media for libel, seeking £70 million in damages, after The Guardian published allegations of sexual misconduct from 20 women, which Clarke denies. Clarke claims the articles, published after he received a BAFTA award, wrecked his career and caused significant personal distress to him and his family. The Guardian defends its reporting, asserting the allegations are true and its publication was in the public interest, with 32 witnesses expected to testify.
