North Korea fired several ballistic missiles into the sea following the start of joint military drills between South Korea and the U.S., which North Korea views as an invasion rehearsal. The missile launches were detected from North Korea's Hwanghae province. This is North Korea's fifth missile launch event this year. The South Korean and U.S. militaries paused live-fire training after South Korean fighter jets mistakenly bombed a civilian area, injuring about 30 people.
