Putin will face ‘severe consequences’ for breaching any peace deal, Starmer warns

The Prime Minister said he was ‘certain’ the Russian president would flout the terms of a truce unless security arrangements were put in place

Keir Starmer warned Vladimir Putin will face "severe consequences" for breaching any peace deal in Ukraine. Starmer attended a meeting with defense chiefs from 31 allied countries in London to develop military plans to enforce a potential peace agreement. The proposed "coalition of the willing" would support Ukraine by air, sea, and land. Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated Putin shouldn't have veto power over European peacekeepers in Ukraine. Volodymyr Zelensky believes lasting peace is achievable this year following a call with Donald Trump.
