Soap star loses damages lawsuit over dog bite on Ottawa movie set

The lawsuit took nine years to unfold. It would turn on the question of whether Adrienne Frantz was eligible for Ontario workers’ compensation benefits.

Soap opera star Adrienne Frantz lost her $5 million lawsuit against a film production company after being bitten by a dog on the set of "The Perfect Girlfriend" in Ottawa in 2014. Frantz claimed the incident caused PTSD, anxiety, and depression, but the court dismissed the case, which had been ongoing for nine years. The production company argued the injuries were not serious and the lawsuit was potentially barred by workplace safety laws.
