Spanish holiday hotspot set for snow and storms as weeks of bad weather continues

A popular Spanish island is set for snow, rain and strong winds this weekend, adding to a recent six-week-long stretch of wet and cold weather at the destination

Majorca, Spain, a popular holiday destination, is forecast for snow on the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, rain, and thunderstorms this weekend, continuing a six-week period of bad weather. Light snowfall is expected above 1,000 meters on Saturday morning, with clearing skies later in the day. Rain is predicted to potentially last until March 23, although lessening after March 16. The recent weather is due to an anticyclone over the British Isles.
