Student behaviour threatening safety, quality of education: Teachers' union

A London-area union has launched a petition to raise expectations of London-area students and allow educators to evaluate students honestly.

The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation in the London area has launched a petition urging the Thames Valley District school board to improve student behavior, allow teachers to honestly evaluate students, and ensure students have adequate resources. The union cites declining behavioral expectations, violence, disrespect, frequent absences, late assignments, pressure to inflate grades, and a lack of exams as issues impacting student safety and the quality of education. They criticize the board's lack of a coherent plan to address these issues.
