Tesla is suing drivers who complain about their cars after accidents – and winning

Tesla owner Elon Musk is a self-described ‘free speech absolutist’

Tesla has sued drivers in China who complained about their vehicles post-accident, securing victories in several defamation cases. Notably, Zhang Yazhou was ordered to pay over $23,000 and apologize after her complaint. Tesla has targeted at least six drivers, six bloggers, and two media outlets, winning all 11 tracked cases, with two under appeal. This aggressive legal approach is uncommon in the automotive industry.
