Thousands of Alberta school support workers could soon return to classrooms: union

Thousands of striking education support workers in Alberta could be back on the job later this week, if they vote in favour of tentative contract settlements.

Thousands of Alberta school support workers are expected to return to work soon following tentative contract agreements with several school divisions, including Parkland, Calgary Board of Education, and Calgary Catholic. Deals were also reached in Edmonton and Fort McMurray after months of striking over wages. However, workers in Foothills, Black Gold, and Sturgeon divisions remain without agreements. The contracts, pending ratification, include back pay to 2020 and raises for the next four years.
