Imposing sentence on Thursday, Mr Justice Paul Burns noted “to say the facts of this matter are disturbing is something of an understatement”.
Three men were jailed for the "cruel, cynical and depraved" rape and sexual assault of a vulnerable woman they met at a Dublin nightclub in 2019. The judge condemned their actions as dehumanizing and a total denial of the victim's dignity. The victim stated the men took advantage of her, using her body as an object, and the judge affirmed that the blame rested solely with them.
