Two men were found guilty of stealing a £4.8m gold toilet from Blenheim Palace in September 2019. James Sheen pleaded guilty to burglary and conspiracy, while Frederick Doe was found guilty of conspiracy to transfer criminal property for helping sell the gold. The stolen toilet, a functioning art piece by Maurizio Cattelan, was plumbed in and its removal caused flooding. The thieves used stolen vehicles and tools, ultimately melting down the gold after the heist. Another man, Bora Guccuk, was found not guilty of conspiracy to transfer criminal property.
