He highlighted strategic differences between Hungary and the rest of the EU ahead of an urgent summit on defense. In a letter to the President of the European Council, Orbán proposed supporting a UN Security Council resolution on Ukraine rather than adopting joint EU conclusions, warning that such an attempt could divide the EU. His stance has drawn criticism for appearing to oppose the united support European allies are providing to Ukraine.
