Do you live in one of the 10 areas of Britain where people drive the oldest cars?

Ownership figures show that the average age of vehicles on our roads has increased to nine years. But the city with the oldest motors has an average age of 12.

A 2025 study by Cars.co.uk, analyzing ONS data, found that Britons are keeping their cars longer, with the average car age at nine years. East and South England have the oldest cars, with Norwich having the highest average car age, followed by Bournemouth, Boston, and Oxford. This trend is attributed to necessity rather than choice, with scrappage rates of older vehicles at a record low.
