The Government will this afternoon whip Labour MPs to strip out a House of Lords amendment to the Great British Energy Bill, as the legislation returns to the Commons.
Labour will block a measure to ban taxpayer-funded solar panels made with slave labor, overriding a House of Lords amendment to the Great British Energy Bill. This decision is driven by Ed Miliband's push for Net Zero and concerns that blocking panels from China, which produces a large portion of the world's supply, would hinder progress. Concerns remain that this will lead to solar panels made with forced Uighur labor ending up on UK schools and NHS sites.
