Claimants have until May 4 to ask the DWP to review their Hardship Payment decision.
Universal Credit recipients who received Hardship Payments between January 1, 2014, and January 11, 2021, may be eligible for a refund from the DWP. The deadline to request a review of the DWP's decision to require repayment is May 4, 2025. To qualify, individuals must have previously requested a waiver or reconsideration of the repayment and been denied, and must demonstrate that repayment was unaffordable or significantly impacted their health and wellbeing.
