Protesters ordered to stop blocking work on water supply to 18th

One demonstrator said works would not begin ‘unless contractor was prepared to hit him with his digger’s bucket’, High Court told

The owner of Ryevale House, an 18th-century property housing asylum-seeking women, secured a High Court order to stop protesters from obstructing the installation of a new water connection. Protesters allegedly intimidated workers and residents, blocked access, and threatened violence, causing Uisce Éireann to halt the installation due to safety concerns. The owner sought the injunction after failing to obtain assurances from protesters to cease their actions.
