Man (38), who was known to the deceased, has been arrested
An 84-year-old woman died in a Cork hospital two days after an alleged assault at her Carrigaline home. Gardaí are investigating the death, which followed an incident where the woman reported being pushed and dragged down the stairs. A 38-year-old man known to the woman and her daughter, who was also assaulted, was arrested and questioned. A postmortem examination will determine if the death was connected to the assault.
