National Gallery scanner among issues that has caused ‘huge embarrassment’ says arts minister

Irish Arts Minister Patrick O'Donovan expressed "huge embarrassment" over issues including the National Gallery's purchase of an unused €125,000 X-ray scanner eight years ago due to the lack of a suitable room. This, along with a failed Arts Council computer project costing €5.3 million and other controversies, has led to criticism and calls for accountability.
