Caring Jamie had applied to become a member of the fire service, mourners told

Jamie Diver, a 20-year-old man from Gortahork, County Donegal, was killed in a tragic road crash on Friday night. He had recently applied to join the fire service, reflecting his desire to help others. At his funeral mass, mourners heard how Jamie had also started his own car valeting service and took pride in his work at Errigal Motors. He was known for his passion for cars, which began during his school years. Jamie was one of two young men killed when the car they were in struck a house wall. Hundreds of people attended his funeral, with friends and family paying tribute to his quiet nature and dedication to his work. Symbols of his life, including a hat, spanner, and buffer, were brought to the altar, and cars lined the street with personalized plates reading "Remembering Slicks."
