Prostate cancer check doubles proportion of men who keep erectile function

NeuroSafe preserves the nerves running through the prostate’s outer layers, which are thought to be responsible for producing erections.

A new study shows that the NeuroSafe technique, which preserves nerves during prostate cancer surgery, almost doubles the proportion of men who maintain erectile function compared to standard surgery. The trial, involving 344 men, found that 39% of men in the NeuroSafe group had no or mild erectile dysfunction 12 months post-surgery, compared to 23% in the standard surgery group.
